About our blog …
The School of Urban and Public Affairs serves the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and regions beyond with one of only three accredited planning programs in Texas. The Masters of City and Regional Planning (MCRP) and Urban Planning and Public Policy (doctorate) programs provide students at all stages of their professional careers with a high-quality, theoretically-grounded, practically-based education.
As most of SUPA’s classes are offered weeknights in recognition of of the large number of working students it attracts, holding regular meetings of extracurricular organizations such as SPA is problematic, at best. This blog is envisioned to provide a virtual space for SPA members and others in the planning and urban affairs community to exchange ideas and information at at distance. Much of what we can accomplish during the semester can be organized, if not accomplished, through electronic means. While the degree of social capital accrued through these remote interactions is debatable, SPA believes that it will be a successful conduit through which students and the greater citizen planning community can exchange views and information to everyone’s betterment.
